Alabama could reportedly have a pair of key pass-catchers back for an important SEC West game. According to Matt Zenitz of On3, Tyler Harrell and JoJo Earle could return as early as Oct. 1, the date No. 2 Alabama faces No. 10 Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Harrell, a speedy transfer from Louisville, and Earle, a sophomore, have been sidelined from the first 2 games with injuries suffered in the preseason. In their absence, Alabama’s running backs have been called on to step up in the passing game.

RB Jahmyr Gibbs leads the team in receptions with 10 (79 yards, touchdown). RB Jase McClellan (3 receptions, 27 yards) is one of 3 players on the team with 2 TD catches through the first 2 games , along with WR Traseshon Holden and WR Jermaine Burton. Holden leads the team in receiving yards with 109 on 9 receptions.

Before the trip to Arkansas, Alabama has a pair of home games against ULM (Sept. 17) and Vanderbilt (Sept. 24).
