Alabama hoops transfer commit Jaykwon Walton was arrested in Tuscaloosa Saturday night and charged with second-degree possession of marijuana. This news comes just under a month after Walton transferred to Alabama from Wichita State.
Walton and 2 other men were asked to exit their vehicle late Saturday night after police received multiple complaints. According to Ryan Phillips of Patch.com, Walton then informed officers that he had a loaded firearm under the seat, and when officers went to retrieve the weapon they found a baggie containing “approximately 20 grams” of marijuana.
Police later found 2 more loaded weapons in the car.

It’s worth noting that while Walton is being charged with second-degree possession, he is not being charged for having loaded firearms in his car. Both Walton and one other passenger in the car were released after posting a $500 bond.
Alabama head coach Nate Oats later told Stadium’s Jeff Goodman that Walton will no longer be a student-athlete at Alabama following his arrest.
