The Alabama Crimson Tide got jumped in the AP Top 25 following last week’s results, and now this week, the Tide have fallen in ESPN’s Top 25 rankings in the Football Power Index.

Alabama has held the No. 1 spot in the FPI rankings through the first couple of weeks; however, that changed Sunday morning when the rankings updated. Alabama is fresh off the destruction of ULM 63-7.

Georgia, however, has continued to impress and the FPI is loving what the Bulldogs are doing on the field through 3 weeks. In fact, UGA jumped both Ohio State and Alabama in the FPI to jump to the No. 1 spot. The AP Top 25 voters also agree, as the Bulldogs were ranked in the top spot after Week 2. They’ll also be ranked No. 1 this afternoon when the updated AP Top 25 Poll is released.

Through 3 games this season, Georgia has outscored its opponents 130-10. There looks to be a sizable gap between Georgia and the rest of the country right now, and only a handful of teams look like they can play with UGA. Alabama is one of them. The Crimson Tide get an improved Vanderbilt team at home in Week 4. Games against ranked Arkansas, Texas A&M and Tennessee lurk in the next few weeks for Alabama.

So, there’s plenty of time for Alabama to jump up in the rankings.
