Alabama padded its 2021 class with a new commitment in Robbie Ouzts of Rock Hill, South Carolina (Rock Hill).

Ouzts is a 3-star recruit, according to the 247Sports Composite, and listed at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds. The Crimson Tide already had 20 commitments in this class, and Ouzts is the first tight end to join the group of recruits. He said in an announcement on Twitter that he plans to be an early enrollee next spring.

He reportedly picked Alabama over Virginia Tech, as he had 26 offers, Bama OnLine reported.

“Alabama started recruiting me later, so I haven’t really gotten to really get the face-time that I really wanted, so it is a leap of faith,” Ouzts told BamaOnLine. “But I really felt good about my relationships with the people there, and I really felt good about where I belong in the program. I figured that it’s the perfect place for me and I wanted to make that leap.”

Ouzts is the first high school tight end to commit Alabama since Caden Clark joined the 2020 class in July of 2018. To help its roster depth, Alabama added grad transfer tight end Carl Tucker from North Carolina this past offseason.

Alabama has the No. 1-ranked class in the 2021 cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite.
