Alabama makes punt returner switch after Kool-Aid McKinstry's latest mistake
Alabama has made a switch at punt returner after Kool-Aid McKinstry made another mistake.
McKinstry has been the main returner for Alabama despite a few mistakes. He muffed a punt last week against Kentucky, but Nick Saban was still confident in him after the game.
On Saturday, McKinstry made another mistake.
In the first quarter of the Tide’s game against Chattanooga, McKinstry took a punt all the way to the 6-yard line, but he fumbled just short of the touchdown. Luckily for Alabama, it was able to recover the punt, but it was enough for Saban to pull McKinstry from punt-returning duties for now.
On Chattanooga’s third punt of the game, safety Caleb Downs was the return man for the Tide. He called for a fair catch, avoiding any costly mistakes.
Caleb Downs has replaced Kool-Aid McKinstry at punt returner.

Alabama is up big, 21-0, on Chattanooga. The Tide are looking for what should be an easy win before closing out the regular season in the Iron Bowl next week.
