Nick Saban has moved on in his search for a new offensive coordinator, and has set an interview with Tommy Rees, the embattled Notre Dame offensive coordinator.

Chris Low of ESPN reported that Rees has had discussions with Saban and is set to be on campus on Thursday. Saban, who is trying to replace Bill O’Brien, reportedly had Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb turn down a job offer after an interview earlier this week.

Notre Dame fans vented frustration for struggles on offense much of last season, and directed their ire toward Rees. For example, in the loss to Marshall, The Irish struggled out of the gate, and trailed Marshall 9-7 at halftime. QB Tyler Buchner completed just 50 percent of his throws for 89 yards and one interception in the first half.

Notre Dame was ranked No. 60 in total offense in the country last season.
