The neutral-site game between Alabama and Wisconsin on the first Saturday of the college football season will be broadcast on ABC during prime time at 8 p.m. ET, multiple sites are reporting.

It’s no shock that the game between the Tide and Badgers, set for AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, will be featured as a premier event.

Other games of national interest on Sept. 5 include Texas A&M-Arizona State (8 p.m. ET on one of the ESPN channels), Texas-Notre Dame (7:30 p.m. ET on NBC) and Auburn-Louisville.

Wisconsin lost standout Melvin Gordon to the NFL draft, where he got selected No. 15 overall, just five spots behind Georgia’s Todd Gurley. But Corey Clement is a terrific back in his own right.

The Badgers lost coach Gary Andersen to Oregon State. Wisconsin also played LSU at a neutral-site game to open the 2014 season and lost to the Tigers, 28-24.

Alabama is hoping to defend its SEC championship and earn another spot in the College Football Playoff. Outside of the SEC schedule, this is the one game that could derail the Tide. Lose, and Alabama probably must win 12 consecutive games, including the SEC championship, to make the CFP again.
