It takes big men to win in the Southeastern Conference and it’s hard to imagine many prospects in the 2020 recruiting cycle will be as big as Damieon George.

The good news for Tide fans? The 6-foot-6, 348-pound offensive lineman from Houston just announced his commitment to Nick Saban’s program. George’s pledge gives Alabama 18 commitments for the 2020 recruiting cycle, which already ranks as the nation’s No. 2 overall recruiting class and the best in the SEC for the current cycle.

247Sports Composite Rankings list George as a three-star prospect and the No. 35 offensive tackle in the nation. George committed to the Tide over scholarship offers from Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Miami and Ole Miss.

For what it’s worth, George is a current teammate of Zach Evans, the nation’s No. 1 running back prospect, at North Shore High School in Houston. The uncommitted Evans recently announced Alabama was in his group of finalists.

He announced his commitment to Alabama with the following comment:

“Would like to say thank you to all the college and coaches for recruiting me during the past couple years, it has truly been a blessing and an amazing experience but at this time I would like to announce that I will be committing to the University of Alabama #RollTide”
