Dan Patrick revealed an interesting stat about Derrick Henry on Thursday via the ‘Dan Patrick Show’. While Henry is entertaining to watch, he is also underpaid.

Patrick revealed that Henry has made $42 million since playing in the NFL. For reference, backup QB Chase Daniel has also made that much.

“You want somebody who should really be upset. Derrick Henry. He might be the most underpaid athlete in all of sports. He has made $42 million in his career. Chase Daniel, back-up QB, hasn’t played in a meaningful game in his career has made, $42 million.”

Henry will be a free agent in 2024 after signing a 4-year, $50 million extension in 2020. Henry and many other running backs from around the NFL voiced their frustrations about how the position has declined in value recently.

Henry has spent his entire NFL career with Tennessee Titans. The Titans selected Henry in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Last season, Henry played in 16 games with 1,538 yards rushing with 13 touchdowns on the ground.

Since coming to Tennessee, the offense has been built around Henry and emphasizes the running game.

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley and Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs are two of the more recent players who have become frustrated after not being able to reach a contract extension.
