Before Derrick Henry was a Heisman Trophy winner and successful NFL running back, he came from Yulee, Fla. And that town hasn’t forgotten it.

In fact, Yulee has added a new welcome sign that states “Home of Derrick Henry, 2015 Heisman Trophy Winner.” A picture of the sign was shared on Twitter by Amber Krycka of CBS 47/FOX 30 on Friday:

Henry played at Yulee High School before going to Alabama, where he played for the Crimson Tide from 2013-15. He was a solid contributor his first two seasons with the Tide, then had a huge junior season in 2015, as he rushed for 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns to win the Heisman.

In 2016, Henry was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2016 draft. He got off to a bit of a slow start in his professional career, but he’s emerged as a top back over the past two seasons.

Henry rushed for 1,059 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2018, and he has 832 rushing yards and eight rushing scores through 10 games this season.
