DeVonta Smith has taken a liking to Jan. 8.

The former Alabama star now with the Philadelphia Eagles delivered another impressive milestone on Saturday, and it’s a strong statement for his rookie season in the NFL. Smith passed DeSean Jackson’s record for most receiving yards by an Eagles rookie when he had 916 yards in the first half of the game against the Dallas Cowboys. Jackson had 912 yards in 2008.

The Eagles trailed the Cowboys 30-17 at halftime, as Smith had 3 catches for 41 yards on 4 targets.

The first time Smith had a memorable moment on Jan. 8 came in 2018 when he caught the game-winning touchdown for Alabama to win the national championship over Georgia.
