Former Alabama star DeVonta Smith has taken his turn in the annual NFL tradition of rookies buying big-ticket items for their closest family members.

The All-American recently signed his first NFL contract, which was a four-year, $20.141 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles that included a $12 million signing bonus. That meant he could buy his mom something special.

He posted a video to Instagram of him surprising his mother, Christian Smith-Sylve, with a new house with two cars in the garage.

“To the world you are a mother, but to me you are the absolute world,” Smith wrote with the video.

Smith last season won the Heisman Trophy and became the first wide receiver to win the prestigious award since Desmond Howard in 1991. Christina is a social worker who earned her degree in social work from Southern University and Agricultural & Mechanical College in Baton Rouge and when she’s not working, Eagles Wire reported.

In his Alabama career, Smith caught 235 passes for 3,965 yards and 46 touchdowns. Smith holds the SEC records for single-season and career receiving yards and single-season and career touchdown receptions.

Along with the Heisman, Smith won the Maxwell Award and Camp Award as college football’s Player of the Year and the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s best wide receiver. He also was a unanimous All-American and the SEC Offensive Player of the Year as Alabama won the CFP national championship last season.
