Eddie Jackson sure has come a long way since his arrival in Tuscaloosa as a member of Alabama’s 2013 recruiting class.

The Florida native was one of the last prospects the Tide accepted into the program’s 2013 class and among the lower-rated overall prospects but Jackson not only beat the odds to become a star player for Alabama, but he’s also gone on to a successful career in the NFL.

How successful has Jackson been at the game’s highest level? Jackson is the first drafted player from the 2017 NFL Draft that has received his second contract from his team.

The Bears think that highly of Jackson, they literally made him the highest-priority in the league when it comes to drafted players from the 2017 Draft.

According to his agency, Jackson is now the highest-paid safety in the NFL entering 2020 as the Bear defender has agreed to a new four-year deal with a total of $58.4 million with total guarantees of $33 million.

Not bad for a player that just made the cut for Alabama back in 2013.
