It looks as if Alabama has found its next offensive coordinator.

According to ESPN’s Chris Low, the Crimson Tide have tabbed Brian Daboll to be the Crimson Tide’s new offensive coordinator:

Daboll has spent the vast majority of his coaching career in the NFL — primarily with the New England Patriots. He was an assistant for Bill Belichick for seven seasons — before embarking on stops with the New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Miami Dolphins.

After acting as the offensive coordinator for the Browns, Chiefs and Dolphins, Daboll returned to New England as the tight ends coach — a position he’s held the past three seasons.

Interestingly enough, Daboll was a graduate assistant under Saban for two years at Michigan State. The familiarity between the two surely helped Daboll land the job.

He becomes the fifth different offensive coordinator at Alabama (Jim McElwain, Doug Nussmeier, Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisian) since the conclusion of the 2011 season.
