In a piece done by CBS Sports on Sunday, an anonymous coach named Alabama coach Nick Saban one of the overrated coaches of college football.

“If you had the No. 1 recruiting class in the country every year [you’d win like Nick Saban]” said the anonymous coach, “He shows up at every single game with a better roster than the teams he ‘s playing.

“If you count cheating and getting the best players in the country as part of running a program, he’s the best in the country. It’s like saying an NFL coach is the best coach in the league if he gets 25 first-round picks every year.”

The comment went viral, and now, ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale has taken to Twitter to defend Saban, shaming the anonymous quote.

“These polls leave me very COLD” said Vitale, “MR ANONYMOUS should go to bed.

“if u don’t have the facts or guts to put ur name to claims as serious as accusing Coach Nick Saban of cheating then just keep quiet.”

Vitale’s specialty is not college football, but seems to have an eye on the Alabama program, keeping up with the quarterback battle happening in Tuscaloosa right now.

Alabama finished with the No. 5 class of 2018, per 247Sports Composite Rankings, while Georgia wrapped up the No. 1 class. As of now, Kirby Smart’s team is sitting at the top of the 2019 recruiting rankings with Alabama right behind. The comment made about Saban was anonymous; so, it is unknown if it was made by an SEC colleague, but maybe that coach will say the same thing to CBS Sports about Georgia next season.
