Sav’ell Smalls is one of the most sought after recruits of this class, and recently announced his top six list of schools he’s narrowed down for his college choice.

Smalls, a native of Burien, Washington, is rated as the ninth-best player nationally and No. 1 outside linebacker overall in the 2020 class, per the 247Sports Composite. The 5-star recruit reportedly took visits to Florida State and Tennessee in July. Smalls listed his top six schools as Oregon, Florida State, Tennessee, Alabama, Washington and Washington State.

But now his father has taken the rare step of communicating with Alabama fans on Twitter to gauge their interest.

“So Alabama fans don’t have nothing to say about our son having them in his top 6???,” he tweeted.

This is an unusual step mainly because coaches and those who follow the recruiting cycles typically discourage fans from tweeting to recruits, or offering an opinion about their college choices.

For what it’s worth, the 247 Sports Crystal Ball has him destined for Alabama.
