Former Alabama players sound off on state of program, say dynasties ‘can’t last forever’

Former Alabama players weighed in like the average fan on Saturday as Alabama struggled, especially on offense, in a lackluster win at South Florida.

Bo Scarbrough, Marlon Humphrey, Reggie Ragland, Marquis Maze and AJ McCarron were some of the players who shared opinions during Alabama’s game. McCarron campaigned for Ty Simpson to warm up ASAP, but later deleted the post.

Meanwhile, Humphrey wrote on social media, “Dynasty’s can’t last forever. It was a nice run though.”

Scarbrough noted to Ragland how Alabama had just 3 points, which the Crimson Tide did at halftime, and it wasn’t until 4:35 left in the 3rd quarter that Alabama scored a touchdown.

All those reactions came after Mark Ingram on FOX Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff noted that benching Jalen Milroe for Tyler Bucher would be an overreaction.

“There was a lot more glaring issues than just the quarterback play,” Ingram said. “On defense, they allowed 6 plays of over 30+ yards for 2 touchdowns. And they had no sacks. Quinn Ewers was back there wheeling and dealing … And then they had 10 penalties for 90 yards. And of 2 of those penalties, they called back touchdowns.”

Here are their reactions:
