Former Alabama RB BJ Emmons is teaming up with former Alabama OC Lane Kiffin.

The FAU backfield received a boost when the former Tide back signed with the Owls on Wednesday over East Carolina. Emmons spent last season at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College. He transferred from Alabama last summer citing a lack of playing time.

Exiting high school, Emmons was ranked as the nation’s No. 7 overall RB from Morganton, North Carolina. The 6-foot, 230-pound back rushed for 694 yards and 10 TDs in 2017 after rushing for just 173 yards during his freshman season at Alabama.

The Owls’ leading rusher, Devin Singletary, returns in 2017. He boasted 1,920 yards and 32 TDs last season. Combine Singletary with Emmons, FAU’s backfield could be downright nasty.
