Rookie jersey numbers are beginning to be released, and former Alabama stars Will Anderson Jr. and Henry To’o To’o have learned their numbers from the Houston Texans.

Anderson, Jr., who was picked 3rd overall, will wear No. 51 for the Texans, while To’o To’o will wear No. 39 as he adds to the influx of Alabama players in Houston.

Anderson was a 3-year starter with the Crimson Tide, where he made 204 tackles, including 58 1/2 for a loss, and 34 1/2 sacks, which ranked second on Alabama’s all-time list.

At 167th overall, To’oTo’o was the fifth player selected by the Texans in the 2023 NFL Draft and is reunited with former Crimson Tide wide receiver John Metchie, III, and one of his best friends, Christian Harris, who was a second-rounder for Houston last spring.

To’oTo’o collected 205 tackles the last 2 seasons for Alabama at the middle linebacker position. He transferred to Tuscaloosa after 2 years at Tennessee, and was surprised when the Texans called him, per the Texans.

“I didn’t talk to them a lot,” To’oTo’o said. “I had an informal meeting with them, had a Zoom with them. But it wasn’t nothing crazy. … We’ve been waiting so long. We’re happy, proud, super-excited. Everybody’s smiling and it’s a big stress reliever.”
