Jim Harbaugh was focusing on the now instead of the possibility of Michigan vacating wins from this season at Wednesday’s media teleconference.

The Wolverines are gearing up for their national championship bout with Washington in Houston. Michigan is coming off of a 27-20 overtime win over Alabama in the Rose Bowl, which punched its ticket to NRG Stadium. Harbaugh is only worrying about the national championship.

“Getting ready for this game. One-track mind,” Harbaugh said when asked about vacating wins. “I guess you want to live in the world of rumorville or speculation, but we just don’t really have any room to be doing that at this point. Our time is spent elsewhere.”

Harbaugh has faced a pair of suspensions this season, starting with a 3-game stretch to begin the season related to recruiting violations during the pandemic. Then the Big Ten suspended Michigan’s head coach for 3 games at the end of the season after allegations of illegal sign stealing practices emerged at midseason.

The last time that Michigan and Washington played was the 2021 season. However, the 2 also played each other in the 1992 and 1993 Rose Bowls. The programs traded wins in those games as Washington won in 1992 and Michigan did the same in 1993.

Before Michigan and Washington become members of the same conference next season, they’ll have to settle the score on the field. Kickoff will be Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
