Opinions about the latest College Football Playoff rankings continue to pour in Wednesday.

Among those to voice his opinion is Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt.

Speaking on “The Joel Klatt Show,” Klatt expressed disappointment in how the rankings played out, most notably with Alabama being ranked at No. 6 and ahead of Clemson.

“Alabama with two losses is still ranked ahead of Clemson, who only has one loss, after a week in which Alabama gets to play Austin Peay and Clemson plays Miami,” Klatt said. “I get it, Miami’s not very good right now. … I’m not saying that’s a gangbusters win. Guess what? It’s better than Austin Peay.

“And the bottom line is Alabama beat Auston Peay 34-0. If you beat Austin Peay 34-0 in the first week of September, the sky is falling. But apparently in November it’s totally fine. And the committee just waves it off and they still stay ahead of a one-loss Clemson team. Like, come on. What are we doing?”

Klatt added that he has the utmost respect for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide but that they’re bing overvalued this year based on historical success.

“Alabama is right now on a run of success that we’ve probably (never seen) before,” Klatt said. “What Nick Saban is doing is totally unprecedented and I don’t think it will ever be repeated. He’s the great college football coach to ever live … and Alabama is currently the best program in the country.

“Now, all of that can be true and I don’t have to overrate Alabama on this specific season, and that’s what’s happening.”

Klatt then took a shot at the CFP committee and the job it has done to date this season.

“My one suggestion to those on the committee, do your job,” Klatt said. “Do your job, because you aren’t up to this point.”
