Joel Klatt emerged optimistic about Alabama after its Week 4 victory vs. SEC West rival Ole Miss. During the most recent edition of The Joel Klatt Show, the FOX analyst praise Alabama for their adjustments.

During the 24-10 win, Alabama slowed the pace to negate the time of possession for the potent Ole Miss offense.

“I feel good about Alabama in the sense that I know that they can go out there and play with a new philosophy and they can play with a new game plan vs. what they had been trying to play with earlier in the season,” Klatt said. “Or even what they had been playing with over the last 5-6 years.”

It wasn’t a dominant performance by Alabama’s offense but 356 total yards ended up being enough to improve to 3-1. Klatt points out that Alabama will have to win games in an old-school fashion based on its personnel.

“This is not going to be the modern Alabama offense. This is going to be a more methodical version of the Alabama offense and it needs to be,” Klatt said. “They need to limit possessions to the opponent and do all the things I was talking about last week. They went out there and put that game plan into effect in particular in the 2nd half and won going away.”

Alabama will aim for a 4-1 mark when they travel for an SEC clash at Mississippi State on Sept. 30 (9 p.m. EST/ESPN).
