Kalen DeBoer is in the process of rounding out his Alabama coaching staff, and additional assistants from his Washington staff are expected to follow the head coach to Tuscaloosa.

On Sunday, it was confirmed that Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb would not be the next head coach of the Huskies, and he is expected to follow DeBoer to the Crimson Tide. Grubb and wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard were the first Husky assistants reported to be sticking with DeBoer with the head coach also reportedly retaining Alabama assistants Freddie Roach (defensive line) and Robert Gillespie (running backs).

According to college football insider Bruce Feldman, DeBoer is also expected to bring offensive line coach Scott Huff and tight ends coach Nick Sheridan with him to Alabama. Huff’s offensive line unit captured the Joe Moore Award this season as the best in the country.

Huff was a longtime Washington assistant retained by DeBoer upon arriving while Sheridan reunited with DeBoer at Washington after previously working together at Indiana.

While DeBoer has just about rounded out his offensive staff, it will be interesting to see what the rest of his defensive assistants look like.
