Mac Jones accomplishes feat not seen from a rookie QB in 30 years
By Keith Farner
Published:
Mac Jones had an impressive outing on Sunday Night Football as the New England Patriots pushed Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Brady’s much-anticipated return to New England.
That performance included a stretch of 19 straight passes, which tied Brady (9/10/2015 vs Steelers) for the most in a single game by a Patriots player since 1978 (1st season of the 16-game schedule). It’s also the longest streak by a rookie QB in the last 30 years.
Jones finished 31 of 40 for 275 yards and two touchdowns in the 19-17 loss to Tampa.
“I have a long way to go, and I just try to put my best foot forward every day, and we all want to win,” Jones said, per the Associated Press.
