Mac Jones delivers tremendous gesture to hospitalized Alabama student
Alabama quarterback Mac Jones has delivered a special gesture to an Alabama freshman student who was injured in a car crash where her friend was killed.
Victoria Ray remains in a UAB Hospital bed about three weeks after her life changed. She had seven surgeries in 10 days. Jones helped her recovery by sending a football, and he wrote, “To Victoria, Prayers for a speedy recovery. Roll Tide. Mac Jones.”
WVTM-13 reported that Ray immediately responded, and said, “What did I do to deserve this?” She cradled her gift as her tears spilled onto the football.”
That delivered some of the best news since Ray suffered a long list of injuries. The car was struck head on, and she suffered a a concussion, two brain bleeds, a broken pelvis broken in five locations, a broken left femur, a broken right tibia, two broken ankles, two broken feet and two broken heels.
Ray is expected to remain at UAB Hospital for a few more weeks and then move to rehab. Then it will be back home to Texas for Christmas and some virtual classes come January.
