Mac Jones did not speak to the media after New England’s Sunday loss to Miami because he was having x-rays on a back injury. Jones and the Patriots got good news Monday.

Jones is believed to have been suffering from back spasms, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. His e-rays were negative, and there’s a chance he could play on Sunday against Pittsburgh.

Jones had a decent game in the 20-7 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday, recording 213 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 21-of-30 passing.

In his rookie year with the Patriots, Jones racked up 3,801 yards and 22 touchdowns, helping the Patriots to a 10-7 record. Jones was named a captain of the team last week.
