Alabama is content with stealing all of the headlines Wednesday.

The Tide attended SEC Media Days earlier, and now, it has landed two commitments Wednesday evening. First, elite QB Drake Maye pulled the trigger for the Tide. Now, Alabama has landed a commitment from 340-pound DT Timothy Smith.

Smith (Sebastian, Florida) is rated a 4-star prospect and ranks as the nation’s No. 13 overall DT and the Sunshine State’s No. 23 overall prospect for the class of 2020, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Smith committed to the Tide over offers from Florida and Georgia, among others.

The Florida lineman became Alabama’s 21st overall commitment and the second verbal pledge from the state of Florida. Smith became the Tide’s third DT commit, joining 4-star Jayson Jones and 4-star Jah-Marien Latham.

He’s a former high school teammate of Alabama LB Jarez Parks, and new OLB coach Sal Sunseri is his primary recruiter.
