Mel Kiper Jr. is out with his latest NFL mock draft for ESPN, and the long-time draft guru has 10 SEC players set to be picked in the first round.

Kiper opened with the Chicago Bears taking Caleb Williams at No. 1 overall, though Kiper noted that the Bears has another decision to make for the second straight year.

Kiper noted Jayden Daniels’ improvement in 2023, and said it’s ultimately a call for Washington between Drake Maye and Daniels. “The bottom line is it’s tight between Daniels and Maye on my board, but Daniels would be an tremendous fit for a Washington roster that has some young playmakers on offense,” he wrote.

Kiper was especially impressed with the LSU offense, as he has 3 Tigers off the board in the first 14 picks. Louisiana sports betting includes an exciting promo code from Bet365.

For Brock Bowers, Kiper said the Chargers have a hole at tight end and need a playmaker, but the fit is a shot in the dark since the organization still needs to hire a coach and general manager.

2. Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU, Washington
5. Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia, Los Angeles Chargers
6. Malik Nabers, WR, LSU, Giants
8. Dallas Turner, OLB, Alabama, Falcons
13. Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama, Raiders
14. Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU, Saints
18. JC Latham, OT, Alabama, Bengals
20. Kamari Lassiter, CB, Georgia, Steelers
31. Ennis Rakestraw Jr., CB, Missouri, Ravens
32. Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia, 49ers

Nabers would be the latest SEC playmaker to land with the Giants after they’ve brought on Wan’Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt in recent years.

While multiple SEC teams claim to be “DBU” Kiper noted that Ennis Rakestraw to the Ravens would mean 6 cornerbacks off the board in Round 1, which would be the most since the 2020 draft.
