While everyone is waiting on what will happen with Urban Meyer at Ohio State, Alabama QB Jalen Hurts is the talk of college football.

After being quiet about the Tide’s QB battle this summer, Hurts let it all air out at Alabama’s media day. Hurts vented his frustration toward the coaches and program after no one inside program addressed all the external noise and speculation surrounding his potential transfer.

There were mixed reviews of his comments, and on Sunday, Hurts’ mother, Pamela, fired back on Facebook at the critical backlash from fans on a fan page dedicated to her son.

“Wow! Ignorance is bliss,” Pamela posted to the page. “When has Jalen ever spoken to media about anything other than the team? When has he ever whined, pouted or talked about what “y’all “ don’t know takes place behind the scenes? There’s a reason why players aren’t allowed to speak to the media. Jalen spoke his truth, finally, after 3 years of being compliant and controlled. You have no idea what is and has been going on— and most likely, never will.”

Hurts’ mother joins his father in chiming in on the QB competition. Hurts’ father, Averion, spoke out about it in April, saying his son could become “the biggest free agent in college football history.”
