Mac Jones proved many doubters wrong last fall, leading Alabama to a perfect record and the program’s latest national championship.

During the process, Jones completed an NCAA single-season record 77.4 percent of his passes, he completed 311 of 402 pass attempts, in addition to throwing for 4,500 yards with 41 touchdowns and just four interceptions.

Now, just over two weeks out from his final college appearance, Jones is proving he belongs on the game’s highest level as he competes in the 2021 Senior Bowl down in Mobile.

During a recent media availability, Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule — who is coaching in the Senior Bowl — was asked to share his initial thoughts on Jones’ performance in practice.

“The guy was just playing two weeks ago, the fact that he’s here speaks to who he is,” Rhule shared. “You get to see his intelligence, he makes really quick decisions, he processes information quickly, highly intelligent. He’s an alpha. He’s the first guy on the practice field, he’s the first guy in the running. He’s got a lot of really, really strong traits.”

After the Alabama signal-caller proved what he could do with his arm this fall, NFL scouts are now questioning Jones’ mobility.

The way Rhule sees it, Jones has already begun to display his mobility may be underrated.

“I think mobility is important,” Rhule added. “You know, I have not seen anything – I thought yesterday he slid in the pocket, moved around and thought he had good mobility. So, I think, all these players have questions that they have to answer, you know? They have to prove it, I can do this. People say I can’t do this, I have to go do this. I thought he looked really good doing that yesterday.”

Rhule isn’t the only one impressed with Jones.

Here is what ESPN Monday Night Football analyst Louis Riddick had to say after seeing Jones in practice this week in Mobile.

“Mac Jones could not have had a better day than he did today at Senior Bowl practice. Total command of every play he participated in, and threw the ball with exceptional accuracy,” Riddick shared.

Safe to say Jones’ stock is rising in Mobile.
