Nick Saban discussed Alabama’s host of mistakes in the first half of the game at Texas A&M, and those were the main reason why the Crimson Tide trailed 24-10.

At halftime, Saban spoke with CBS Sports.

“We’re not playing very well, we’re not tackling very well, we’re not staying in our gaps,” Saban said. “They’re doing a good job of blocking us, we haven’t gotten off the field on third down. So we got to play a lot better, we’ve got to do a lot better, no doubt.”

Jamie Erdahl then asked him about Alabama’s use of timeouts.

“What about it? I mean if they’d have got the ball back, we had all the timeouts, we would’ve started calling them once we got less than a minute, so but we didn’t even make it, we didn’t need the time that we had,” Saban said. “So you don’t call timeout until there’s less than a minute, we had 3 timeouts. So we were going good. We just got a penalty on fourth down, turned the ball over on the 2-yard line, turned it over again, lots of penalties. All these things contribute to not doing well.”
