Nick Saban joined the Pat McAfee Show Thursday afternoon to discuss Alabama’s upcoming College Football Playoff matchup against Michigan and potentially beyond.

McAfee, who has his own show with ESPN, asked Saban about the magnitude of the upcoming game, and how he plans to address his team in preparation for No. 1 Michigan.

Here’s what Saban said.

“I think our team still has a lot to prove, there’s a lot of naysayers out there that think we shouldn’t have gotten in the playoff and we have the opportunity to do that. I really think they know they’re going to be playing a really good team. They just played the No. 1 team in the country, they’re going to get the opportunity to play the No. 1 team in the country again. I think their expectation of the quality of player you’re going to play against, what you have you do to prepare to play against that player, as if he’s going to be the best player you play against all year is kinda the mentality we’ve used in the past, and I think it works well.”
