The Alabama Crimson Tide are looking like a juggernaut this year, and not much has gone wrong for Nick Saban’s squad.

However, one weak spot has been the kicking game, and on Saturday against Louisiana, kicker Joseph Bulovas missed two short field goals.

After the game, Saban said the team is still confident in Bulovas, but need him to increase his focus during games (via AL.com):

“Joseph is very capable,” Saban said. “I think he hit both balls well, he just didn’t finish exactly right. Maybe his focus wasn’t what it needed to be but he has been making progress.”

Saban complimented Bulovas’s work on kickoffs, saying his work in that aspect of the game gives the coaching staff confidence in him:

“He’s been doing a good job kicking off for us so we have confidence in him,” Saban said. “He makes the kicks in practice on a pretty consistent basis and had a big kick for us last week right before the half. So, we have confidence in him and we’ll continue to coach him with confidence.”

The kicking woes haven’t hurt the Tide thus far, but if they ever do find themselves in a close game, Bulovas better make his kicks, or Saban’s tone might change.
