Nick Saban names Alabama's 2 most productive defenders so far this season
The Alabama defense has struggled more than we’re used to seeing under Nick Saban this season, allowing 325.4 yards per game through five games. That ranks No. 38 in the nation in total defense.
However, not all the players are struggling (injuries have also played a significant role). On Wednesday night, coach Nick Saban spoke about some standout players.
Saban said that DB Xavier McKinney and EDGE Anfernee Jennings have been the two most productive defenders for the team so far:
Saban on Xavier McKinney: “He and Anfernee Jennings have been our two most productive players on defense so far.”
“X sets a good example every day."

McKinney leads the team with 41 tackles. He also has an interception. Jennings has 29 tackles (5 for a loss) and a team-high 3 sacks.
Who will step up after the off week? We’ll find out as SEC play heats up for the Tide.
