Nick Saban is aware that Alabama will have a similar meeting as Saturday against Texas in the future when the Longhorns join the SEC.

So it was not a surprise to him that the Crimson Tide were in for a battle against the Longhorns, and a raucous crowd in Austin, Texas.

“This is like playing an SEC game on the road,” Saban said. “This kind of atmosphere, this kind of team that we’re playing. That was a lot better team than people give them credit for. And they’re going to be in the SEC. If they were in the SEC right now, they’re probably in the top half of the league. This was a real test for us.”

Alabama will likely need someone like Bryce Young to continue making the kind of plays he made on Saturday. He helped the Crimson Tide escape Texas with 20-19 after he had a key 20-yard scramble to set up Will Reichard’s 33-yard field goal with 10 seconds left.

Overall, Young was 27-for-39 passing for 213 yards and a touchdown, and also added 7 carries for 38 yards in the win.
