Many already believe Nick Saban is the greatest college football coach ever, but he has yet another accolade to add to his ever-expanding list of accomplishments.
Saban is the highest-paid public employee in America, according to rankings compiled by 24/7 Wall Street. The coach pulls in more than $7 million a year, and he has done nothing but make good on the university’s investment. The Crimson Tide in 2015 won its fourth national title in the last seven years — all under Saban — while gaining more than $95 million in revenue, according to Forbes.
This shouldn’t exactly come as a surprise. Thirty-nine of the top 50 highest-paid public employees are college football or basketball coaches, 24/7 Wall Street found, and Alabama’s dynasty under Saban is unrivaled in either of those sports.
