Nick Saban reveals Terrion Arnold's injury, applauds Trey Amos
Nick Saban updated the injury status of star cornerback Terrion Arnold after Alabama’s victory over Tennessee on Saturday.
Arnold left the game midway through after suffering an upper-body injury. Speaking to reporters, Saban explained that Arnold actually has a “slight concussion.”
“He (Arnold) didn’t clear the (concussion) protocol, so the thing that you do is you don’t play the guy,” explained Saban. “That’s for safety reasons, and hopefully in a few days he’ll clear (concussion protocol).”
Arnold was replaced by Trey Amos, who made the most of his opportunity. Speaking on Amos, Saban said the young corner “played well, played really well.”
“He (Amos) was very aggressive in coverage, had a couple of pass breakups,” explained Saban. “So, I thought he played really, really well.”
The Tide was able to dominate in the 2nd half, outscoring the Vols 27-0. The short-handed Alabama secondary was able to make enough plays and the Vols struggled to move the ball at all after halftime.
Luckily for Saban, his team will now have a week to try and get healthy before taking on the LSU Tigers on November 4. The matchup against the Tigers will likely be the toughest remaining regular season task for the Tide.
