Alabama coach Nick Saban called the Crimson Tide’s spring “productive” as he reviewed the workouts following the A-Day spring game on Saturday.

He called on the players to create winning habits as they transition to finish out the academic year, and move toward the summer and fall camp.

“I think the individuals on the team make a decision of what their habits are going to be, have winning habits or losing habits,” he said. “Buy into what you need to do to be a team, play like we need you to play, with effort, toughness, discipline to do your job. I think that’s the time.”

While Saban said the program overall made progress this spring, he’s looking for more.

“I’m not satisfied with where we are, we have a lot of work to do as a team but certainly looking forward to taking every opportunity that we have to improve our team and continue to improve our players,” he said.

After Saban pushed back at a reporter earlier in the week about suggesting QB Bryce Young was the clear-cut No. 1 QB, the coach applauded his play throughout the spring.

“I think he’s done a really good job all spring,” Saban said. “We continue to work on him kind of having the presence out there that affects other people in a positive way, and I think he’s starting to get more and more respect from the other players by the way he plays.”
