Throwback and alternate uniforms, with a particular focus on jerseys and helmets, have become increasingly popular in recent years.
Teams often will break out a special jersey or helmet for a game to get the players pumped up and, more importantly, try to connect with recruits.
In May, Pick Six Previews found that the recruits the site polled ranked Alabama’s uniforms the worst in college football. But don’t expect the Crimson Tide to switch up its traditional uniforms any time soon. Nick Saban says it’s part of the team’s brand.
Saban on uniforms: "That's our brand…Maybe some people in the new generation would like to see changes but I'm not quite ready for that."

The uniform was one of a few non-Xs and Os topics Saban discussed on his radio show:
Saban said his granddaughter saw Saban's reaction late vs. Western Kentucky. "Why pappaw mad? It made me feel bad about getting mad, too."

So, this fan that calls into Nick Saban's radio show & praises him, then asks for free tickets to a UT game, & Saban says he'll get it done.

Every Thursday before the radio show, Saban eats "meatloaf, macaroni and cheese and green beans" from 15th Street Diner. It closed in 2013.
