One foot out the door? Jalen Hurts reportedly listed in NCAA transfer portal

Jalen Hurts appears to have taken the first step in potentially transferring from Alabama.
Multiple outlets are reporting that Hurts has entered his name into the transfer portal. It’s a step that doesn’t bind Hurts to any decision but allows other coaching staffs to contact him and recruit him.
Hurts finishing his college football career elsewhere has been expected since Tua Tagovailoa led Alabama’s comeback against Georgia in last year’s national championship game. Fans, coaches and media members praised Hurts for opting not to redshirt in 2018. He instead played throughout the season as Tagovailoa’s backup.
Having recently graduated, Hurts would be immediately eligible to play in 2019 if he does decide to transfer from Alabama. It was recently revealed that he applied to graduate school at Alabama. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
