Alabama hosted its National Championship celebration Saturday, and thousands were on hand in Tuscaloosa to celebrate No. 17.

The celebration started at 3:00 p.m. ET, and it was held on the steps of Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The Million Dollar Band got the party started, followed by the captains with the National Championship trophy.

The team then made their way through the crowd on a position-by-position basis with their position coach. Things started off with the quarterbacks and finished with the defensive backs. Of course (and aside from Nick Saban), Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts received the loudest cheer.

Nick and Terry Saban brought up the rear, as it was announced that Nick’s Kids Foundation will be starting its 17th house in Tuscaloosa soon.

Alabama AD Greg Byrne was the first to speak on the stage.

“We’re the only team to advance to the College Football Playoff in all four years of its existence … And we don’t have just the best college football coach in the country, we have the best coach in the country,” Byrne said.

Nick Saban was then presented the Sugar Bowl Trophy and the crystal ball for the coaches trophy.

Captains LB Rashaan Evans, OL Bradley Bozeman, LB Shaun Dion Hamilton and DB Minkah Fitzpatrick all spoke at the celebration. Evans, Bozeman and Hamilton are graduating, and Fitzpatrick is leaving for the NFL Draft early.

The “2017” label near Nick Saban’s statue was also unveiled.

Saban and the captains were then presented with the College Football Playoff National Championship Trophy.

Saban then took the podium and ignited the crowd.
