Ryan Grubb is a candidate for the Seattle Seahawks’ offensive coordinator job, according to a report.

That’s per Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, who shared that news on Thursday afternoon. Grubb was brought in from Washington to be Alabama’s offensive coordinator in 2024. Florio’s report says no deal has been finalized but Grubb is “definitely under consideration” for the OC role in Seattle.

The Seahawks hired former Michigan and Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald as their next head coach earlier this week. Macdonald, now the youngest head coach in the NFL, is evidently interested in bringing Grubb back to the pacific northwest.

Grubb followed new Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer to Tuscaloosa this offseason. He was one of the first hires made by DeBoer as he built out Alabama’s coaching staff for the 2024 season.

Grubb spent 2 years in Seattle as the Huskies’ offensive coordinator. Washington had one of the most productive offenses in the country this past season with Grubb as the primary play-caller. The Huskies averaged 7.04 yards per play in 2023, which ranked in the top-10 nationally.

If Grubb does leave Alabama, it would put the Tide in a difficult spot. DeBoer would likely have to act quickly to bring in a new offensive coordinator ahead of the start of spring practice.
