The kickoff time for next season’s Sept. 28 showdown between Alabama and Georgia has been set, with the remainder of the SEC football schedule to be released on Wednesday on the SEC Network.

The game will have a prime-time slot at 7:30 p.m. ET at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. The game highlights the SEC’s special one-season schedule to allow time for further planning as Texas and Oklahoma join the conference.

After the end of a 15-year deal with CBS, the SEC begins a new deal with ABC and ESPN next season.

A few weeks ago, SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey told reporters that the conference will keep its traditional 3:30 EST matchups, now on ABC with noon kickoffs on either ABC, ESPN or SEC Network. Some prime-time games such as Georgia at Alabama will also be telecast.

For Alabama, a Nov. 23 game at Oklahoma looms as another likely ABC telecast. Two weeks earlier, the Tide travels to play at Wisconsin.

Georgia will play Oct. 19 at Texas, giving each of the newcomers a home game with the SEC’s 2023 division winners. The Bulldogs open the season Aug. 31 with a test against Clemson at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Oklahoma will also play host to Tennessee, but plays at LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri and Auburn in addition to its tradition game against Texas at the Cotton Bowl.

Texas travels to Michigan on Sept. 7. The Longhorns’ home schedule includes Florida. They finish their season at historic rival Texas A&M in another likely featured telecast.
