Taulia Tagovailoa isn’t jealous of all the attention on his older brother. In fact, he enjoys it.

Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is off to an incredible start this season. He is a frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy and has led the No. 1 Crimson Tide to a 7-0 start.

“It’s great,” Taulia Tagovailoa told AL.com’s Josh Bean. “I feel blessed and lucky, because not too many younger brothers can say they have an older brother who goes to Alabama and he’s doing all these great things. Also, it motivates me to be better. I can learn a lot of new things from him.”

Taulia plays at Thompson High School in Alabaster, Ala. On Wednesday, he received his jersey for the 2019 All-American Bowl. Next year, the younger Tagovailoa, who is a 4-star recruit per the 247sports composite rankings, will be joining his older brother on Alabama’s roster.

But for now, the attention will likely stay on Tua, who has passed for 1,760 yards, 21 touchdowns and no interceptions this season. After it was uncertain if he or Jalen Hurts would start for the Crimson Tide this year, Tagovailoa is showing why he has earned the majority of playing time.

Taulia is also having a strong season. He has passed for 2,693 yards and 26 touchdowns during Thompson’s 6-1 start. However, he gives the edge to his older brother for who is having the better year.

“Well, they’re undefeated, so you have to give it to him,” Taulia told AL.com.
