Tim Tebow, formerly of Florida and currently working as a TV analyst for ESPN’s SEC Network, joined “SportsCenter” on Saturday morning to discuss the possibility of No. 8 Alabama taking down No. 1 Georgia and what that would mean for the College Football Playoff.

“I think the committee is going to be in a difficult situation because you’re gonna have an Alabama team that just had the best win of the year against a Georgia team that hasn’t lost in three seasons,” Tebow said. “And how do you weigh that? Do you let Alabama now in, Georgia now out? Then if Texas is impressive tonight and Texas has a win a head-to-head win on the road over Alabama. I mean, that’s just pure chaos.”

Washington has appeared to already lock itself into a spot in the College Football Playoff. With a win on Saturday night against Purdue, Michigan would do the same.

In the case that Alabama defeats Georgia, the committee has a decision to make. As Tebow mentioned, the conversation would come down to Florida State (if it wins the ACC), Texas (Big 12 Champ), Alabama (SEC champion) and Georgia (12-1 SEC runner-up).

The Longhorns defeated Alabama 34-24 during Week 2 of the college football season and thus have the head-to-head advantage. Florida State would be unbeaten, while Georgia would have a lone loss to the Crimson Tide after being ranked No. 1 for much of the 2023 season. Two of those teams would have to be left out.
