Second-ranked Georgia (10-0) and No. 8 Alabama (9-1) appear on a collision course for an SEC Championship Game full of postseason implications. SEC Network’s Tom Hart weighed in on if the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs will deliver a classic in December.

“Well, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be,” Hart said on the McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning podcast on Tuesday. “Obviously, this is a different Alabama team at this point of the season than what we saw in September.”

“They’re much different at quarterback, and I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that the to say [offensive coordinator] Tommy Rees resurrected his career in a short, roughly 6-month span,” Hart added. “Because if they had been the same team this time of year as they were in September, I don’t know how long he’s around.”

Alabama turned the corner offensively during a 7-game winning streak, and the Crimson Tide only looked stronger in recent weeks with more than 40 points per game. Quarterback Jalen Milroe has been solid with a 65.2% completion rate and 2,070 yards passing for 16 TDs versus 6 interceptions.

“And I think the sky’s the limit for this Alabama team right now,” Hart said.

As for Georgia, the defending national champions have taken care of business all season. The Bulldogs hold teams to 15.6 points per game while putting up 40.6 points per contest.
