Alabama landed a big-time dual-threat QB commit in Tua Tagovailoa earlier this month.

The Hawaii native is rated as the country’s No. 2 dual-threat signal caller and the top overall player in the state of Hawaii. And he’s committed to play in the SEC.

Tagovailoa recently showed off his cannon at The Opening Oakland Regional, and he has plenty enough arm strength to make every throw on the field. Tagovailoa is slightly a bit shorter for QBs — he’s listed at 6-foot — and it’s interesting that for two straight years the Crimson Tide have pursued a dual-threat signal caller. Last year it was Jalen Hurts, who’s already on campus. It’s been well documented the success the Crimson Tide have had with pro-style quarterbacks.

Here are a few videos of Tagovailoa showing off his arm strength:

Tagovailoa is a contender to finish as the country’s No. 1 dual-threat QB by National Signing Day. He threw for 2,583 yards and 33 touchdowns to just three interceptions and rushed for 576 yards as a junior.

Tagovailoa told KHON2 why he fell in love with Alabama and ultimately why he committed to the Tide.

“I feel like I’m home over there,” Tagovailoa told KHON2 earlier this month. “Everybody on Sunday goes to church and that’s something big in my life as far as spirituality. I couldn’t ask for anything better.”

Following the conclusion of the event, Tagovailoa earned his invitation to the prestigious Elite 11 Finals:
