Urban Meyer, former Ohio State coach, has some words to say about his former team and how he expects them to play this season against an SEC powerhouse.

Can Ohio State compete at the same level as Alabama? well, Meyer thinks so.

Meyer was asked during an interview with Dan Dakich on Don’t At Me how the Buckeyes will play and how they can roll with the Tide.

He provided more emphasis on the Buckeyes’ head coach Ryan Day and how the Buckeyes can win the 2022 national championship:

“The one thing about Ryan (Day) too, funny story, he was in the NFL for two years. He got let go with the Eagles and he got let go in San Francisco and I remember I was talking to Gene Smith that I wanted to hire Ryan Day. He was a grad assistant for me at Florida,” Meyer said.

“Tremendous coach. He said, ‘are you sure you want to hire Ryan Day? The last two jobs he struggled.’ I said that’s not Ryan Day. I think they’re every bit on the talent level of Alabama right now.”

Heather Dinich, ESPN writer and analyst, during an interview on ESPN’s Get Up, also went into detail on if Ohio State is on the same level as Alabama:

“Right this skinny minute, you better believe they are. With the talent on those two teams, 100 percent. That’s why I have Ohio State No. 1 in my preseason poll.”

We will see how this season plays out and if Ohio State’s talent matches up with Alabama.
