Eryk Anders took an unorthodox journey after his Alabama football career ended.

The NFL didn’t work out. Then, after brief stints in the CFL and Arena Football League, Anders decided to pursue a different sport — mixed martial arts.

The change has worked out well for Anders, who is 10-1 in his professional MMA career, including going 2-1 since joining UFC. He won 10 straight fights to begin his professional MMA career.

On Thursday, FOX Sports released a video segment of Anders returning to Alabama, where he reflects on his Crimson Tide career and even sits down with coach Nick Saban, who breaks down some of Anders’ top plays from his college career and analyzes his former player’s new MMA career.

“You usually always talk about the process, and I’ve certainly applied that to the way I train, the way I prepare for fights,” Anders told Saban during the segment.

It’s certainly an interesting piece, and it’s cool to see Saban and one of his former players reflecting, catching up and discussing two different sports. Watch it below:

Before entering the octagon for the first time, Anders played linebacker at Alabama from 2006-09.
