Arkansas senior linebacker Brooks Ellis was named one of 12 finalists for the William V. Campbell Award, the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame announced Tuesday.

The honor is annually presented to “the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation,” according to the NFF. All 12 finalists will receive an $18,000 post-graduate scholarship, while the winner — who will be revealed on Dec. 6 — will have his scholarship bumped to $25,000.

Ellis is carrying a 3.82 GPA as an exercise science major. The 6-foot-2, 245-pound linebacker also leads the Razorbacks with 57 tackles to go along with four tackles for loss and an interception.
